Made by Auckland artist Bob Steiner, this ceramic Rumple bowl is both functional and artistic.
The form is another of Bob's exploration of finding form through wet clay. The Rumple forms are made with hitting lumps of wet clay with wood. The resulting angles forming a strong geometric pattern. The Rumple bowl is left as an open cast which creates a whole new form reminiscent of flower forms.
Bob Steiner is a renowned New Zealand ceramic artist and potter working from his Avondale, Auckland studio, where he and his small team creates handcrafted sculptural ceramic tiles which capture the essence of Aotearoa's fauna and flora.
