Made by Auckland artist Bob Steiner, this ceramic Pointed Leaf vase is both functional and artistic, bringing a pop of colour to any room.
This shape was made exploiting the sculptural qualities of plastic clay. Bob sliced a large lump of clay using wire hoops. The process is swift and somewhat spontaneous. A mold is then made of this solid form resulting in the Pointed Vase.
Bob Steiner is a renowned New Zealand ceramic artist and potter working from his Avondale, Auckland studio, where he and his small team creates handcrafted sculptural ceramic tiles which capture the essence of Aotearoa's fauna and flora.
