This is a handmade ceramic Lemon Squeezer hat by Bob Steiner.
The iconic hat worn by WWI and WWII soldiers was dubbed the ‘lemon squeezer’ because of it's shape. First worn by the Taranaki Rifles Regiment and soldiers in WWI. The design was inspired by Mt Taranaki and was a practical design that allowed water to run off.
Bob Steiner, is a renowned New Zealand ceramic artist, based in Auckland. He is a designer/artist with over 30 years experience in traditional forms of sculpturally designed pottery and slip casting production.
Each handmade hat may vary slightly in colour due to the nature of being handcrafted.
