Fiordland- Tawaki looks to Sea Print
By Emma-Kate Moore
This is a lovely limited edition pigment print of Fiordland- Tawaki looks to Sea on Hahnemühle 300gsm print paper by Emma-Kate Moore.
The Fiordland Crested Penguin or Tawaki to Māori, is one of the rarest of New Zealand’s mainland penguins. They are endemic to New Zealand, breeding in small colonies on inaccessible headlands and islets along the shores of south-western South Island and Stewart Island. They can be seen and heard on landing beaches during July – December.
Emma-Kate loves and finds inspiration in the Queenstown Lakes district of New Zealand’s South Island. Surrounded by some of the most stunning flora and fauna in the world, she pursues a number of mediums to express what she sees. She’s built her practice around her fascination with the forms that emerge as a function of light in her subjects. She delights in line creating shapes, the forming of an expressive and abstracted fluid geometry. Her pleasure in deeply observing the world around her translates to nuanced colour palettes full of mood and feel.
