This cool illustration Tea Towel design draws on the Auroch which was a type of wild cattle that lived throughout Europe, North Africa and Asia. They roamed and grazed in small herds across plains and in open woodland. The Aurochs (Bos primigenius) was black, stood 1.8 metres high at the shoulder, and had spreading, forward-curving horns.
The aurochs, also known as urus or ure, is an extinct species of large wild cattle that was first described in 1827 and survived in Europe until 1627. It is believed the aurochs were around for approximately 2 million years.
