Wear this enamel pin to honour those who died in the Battle of The Somme at Flers-Courcelette in 1916.
15000 New Zealanders served on the Somme in France. 5848 were wounded 2111 Died in Action.
Battle of Flers-Courcelette 15th - 16th September 1916 (New Zealand's major battle)
607 New Zealanders were killed on the 15th. 200 were killed on the 16th.
Sgt. Donald Forrester Brown was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery in the Battle of Fleurs.
We will remember them.
